The process for these crowns is the same as for any other crown however these crowns are designed in order to be more esthetically pleasing since the coping (inner core material) of the crown is not metal based; hence, a more translucent porcelain layer can be applied to create the most natural crown that best resembles your own teeth.

Lava Crowns are a recent addition to Huntington Family Dentistry due to its strength and cosmetic appeal. Lava Crowns are made from Zirconia coping with a porcelain outer layer which provides proven high strength performance. They are made by a precision CAD/CAM system for an outstanding marginal fit and have natural translucency. Unlike other esthetic crowns, Lava crowns can be placed in both anterior and posterior (premolar and molar region) of your mouth and can also be made as a short span bridge.
