Periodontal Therapy

This is a treatment of affected gum either localized or generalized in the mouth. Scaling and root planing (deep cleaning) are often the first treatment of choice in fighting against gum disease. It is done in order to remove tartar and hard calculus with bacteria around and below the gum line. Then further treatment regimen is recommended to maintain the gum or a referral to a periodontist for extensive treatment such as gum surgery is required.
